The first exhibitions of the latest products, technological innovations from the construction industry, conferences, discussions and contests were shared by exhibitors and visitors of 23rd Poznan International Construction and Architecture BUDMA Trade Show 2014 held in Poznan. Over 1,000 exhibitors from all over the world presented their products. Traditionally, the organizers of Poznan Construction Trade Show inaugurated industry meeting with granting Gold Medals for the most interesting of the displayed products. FAKRO was among the winners of this highly prestigious distinction being awarded for the type F flat roof window.
This modern product with FAKRO brand ensures perfect illumination of the room with flat roof. It is equipped with innovative glazing unit featuring excellent thermal insulation parameters and modern design. The window can be manufactured in any size (in the range of 60x60cm - 120x220 cm). It allows for replacement of existing skylights, often in non-standard sizes that do not meet current thermal insulation standards. The window is available in three versions: DEF – electrically opened, DMF – manually opened using control rod and DXF – non-opening. The electrically operated windows (DEF) have a built-in rain sensor that automatically activates the sash closing function when it rains. Their design enables installation of the sun protection accessories.

The Gold Medal of Poznan International Construction Trade Show is one of the most recognizable awards in the Polish market. A group of outstanding professionals representing various sectors of the construction industry decides about its granting. Prizes were granted by Jóżef Jasiczak - the Chairman of the Competition Jury Doctor Habilitatus, Professor of Engineering from Poznan University of Technology, Janusz Żbik - Deputy Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy and Andrzej Byrt - the Chairman of Poznan International Construction Trade Show.
Manufactured by FAKRO the AMZ Solar electric awning blind, which was awarded with the Gold Medal of Poznan International BUDMA Trade Show last year, won another prestigious prize. This time, FAKRO innovative product gained the highest recognition of consumers themselves who in the contest titled Consumers' Choice recognized the awning blind as the best construction product of 2013.
Every year, the organizers of Poznan International Construction Trade Show encourage consumers to choose via the Internet the best product of eleven innovative products that have been awarded with the Gold Medal during the previous edition of the trade show. The AMZ Solar electric awning blind won the voting. Consumers appreciated combination of the highest operation comfort and effective protection of the loft against overheating. Operated via remote control or automatically controlled, the AMZ Solar awning blind provides nearly eight times more better protection against room overheating when compared with internal screens, thus ensuring ingress of natural light and eye contact with the external environment.
Over 27% of the Internet users voted for FAKRO awning blind.
Two FAKRO innovative products: the type F flat roof windows and the VMZ Solar awning blind for vertical windows also received the TopBuilder 2014 award presented by editors of a professional monthly magazine Builder.
This highly valued in the construction industry accolade is granted to the best innovative construction products. Products awarded to FAKRO were assessed by the Competition Jury under the direction of Doctor Habilitatus, Professor of Engineering Leonard Runkiewicz, consisting of editorial team of the Builder magazine and its Program Committee.
During BUDMA trade show, FAKRO presented full range of products associated with safety, energy-efficiency and comfort use of the loft space. Galeria balcony window, the warmest roof window in the market – FTT U8 Thermo and innovative top hung and pivot preSelect windows gained recognition of the visitors.
Particular interest attracted brand new, automatically controlled external awning blinds and Solar markizoleta for vertical windows. Visitors of FAKRO booth were able to check on their own operation of accessories using the remote control and find out about their numerous advantages. In addition to protection against room overheating in the summer, the material structure ensures ingress of natural light into the room and eye contact with the external environment.
Operation of the automatic control in FAKRO products could also be tested in roof windows closed and opened via touch panels, remote controls and iPhone.
Wide range of FAKRO loft ladders, including insulated LWT loft ladder also attracted attention of the visitors.
Occupying area of nearly 300m², FAKRO booth in shades of green and white was awarded with Acantus Areus statue during this year's BUDMA. Company's booth was recognized as one of the best designed and prepared for the implementation of its marketing strategy during the trade show. The Competition Jury evaluating the best exhibition booths of Poznan International Construction Trade Show appreciated FAKRO booth originality, recognizing that the applied architectural and graphic solutions enhance communication with the customer, which in turn has positive influence on the positive and innovative image of the company.
Journalists of the professional magazines participating in the press conference organized by FAKRO and titled “FAKRO Inspires” had a chance to enrich their knowledge concerning innovative and energy-efficient solutions used in the roof window industry. For FAKRO, it was mainly an opportunity to present the company's range of products and solutions that set new standards in the roof window sector.
Our solutions are inspiration for creation of innovative architectural designs – explained Janusz Komurkiewicz, Marketing Director of FAKRO Poland during the meeting with journalists. On the other hand, unique architectural designs are for FAKRO inspiration to create new products.
An important event of this year's BUDMA were 7th Polish Championship of Young Roofers. The best professionals in the country competed in three categories: metal, sloping and flat roofs. Young practitioners of the roofing trade have been traditionally mounting FAKRO products. However, they used for the first time the type F flat roof window awarded with the Gold Medal of BUDMA.
FAKRO presented its products at the BUDMA for the 22nd time. The company from Nowy Sacz belongs to regular guests of this highly prestigious trade show for the construction industry.
